Yesterday while looking out my window into the garden these three robins caught my eye and I had to watch their interesting behavior for later sketching. One robin was busy pulling and tugging on the long grasses coming from the ornamental grass plant. It had figured out which grasses to pull and where to stand to get balance and strength in pulling. The other two robins were standing around watching this bird’s behavior. Once the robin had its mouth full and could carry no more the two flew away. The other robin watching from the log stayed to collect nutrients from the ground and never did join the others. I don’t know what it’s relationship was to the other two.
